This is an indivdual assignment but you should use your teams to discuss your research and findings, and to give each other encouragement.
The brief
Consider your own discipline or aspect of it. Choose one of these topics:
- In what ways did China innovate?
- What would you say are the distinctive Chinese features in this area? (This can be historical or modern day)
- Examine a process or particular piece from before 1900
- Chinoiserie and your discipline
- Who are some key or emerging figures or companies in this area today and why? What do they do?
Write an article of between 600-1200 words with appropriate illustrations. Post it to the module blog in the category "Assignment 2" and "Chinese design", with appropriate tags (e.g. illustration, history etc)
